Announcement

Description of Maintenance: Service-wide deployment of the Cloud July release.  This deployment will be performed after normal working hours – local Data Pod Time. There will be no service outage during the deployment.

Customer Impact: Customers connecting via Explicit, Mobile Client, and Proxy Forwarding shall automatically be re-directed to active Data Pods within the same site or geographic location.  Customers using IPSec to the Singapore location will see their tunnels drop and re-establish to their secondary location (if configured) as the upgrade occurs.  Customers using IPSec to all other sites may experience a short fail-over delay as the load balancer directs traffic to another active Data Pod in the site.

Date: 31 July 2012

Time: Starting at 08:00 PDT for APAC and progressing geographically westward.

Service Impact: This deployment will be performed on all Data Pods, however, Data Pods will be upgraded in rotation, preserving service at each site at all times. There will be no service outage during the deployment.

Customer Actions Required: Customers not using proxy.threatpulse.net or the load balancer VIP, will experience the full outage of the Data Pod to which they are directly connected. These customers should ensure that their tunnels are re-established and that they are pointing to the primary location (if a secondary is configured) after the upgrade is complete.

Included fixes:

  • IPsec method:  Some data sent down wrong IPsec SA when multiple subnets configured.
  • Password override request returns a 400 error:  Users attempting to send a password to override a blocked webpage received a browser 400 error.

Reporting problems:  If you have issues after the upgrade, please contact Blue Coat Technical Support.  Support information is located at http://www.bluecoat.com/support/ .  Support information is also located on the main Threatpulse portal page of https://portal.threatpulse.com/ .
