FAQ

Does static bypass work with WCCP GRE encapsulation?

Answer

WCCP can be configured to use GRE encapsulation packet delivery.  Normally, the proxy will strip the GRE encapsulation from the received packet before processing it.  However, if static bypass is used, the GRE encapsulation will prevent the OCS from recognizing the packet as having HTTP inside.  This will cause the OCS to drop the packet and no data will be returned to the requester. Thus, GRE encapsulation will not work when static bypass is enabled.
