Transparent proxy: A configuration in which traffic is redirected to the ProxySG without the knowledge of the client browser. No configuration is required on the browser, but network configuration, such as an L4 switch or a WCCP-compliant router, may be required. The proxy can be put inline, such as using a bridge card, to also make it a transparent proxy. Or the user's workstation can use the ProxySG's IP address as the default route and the proxy can forward the requests on.
