Problem Description

The original Napster file sharing service was shut down in July 2001.

Although the original Napster file sharing service is no longer active, there is open source Napster server software, such as Napigator and OpenNap. Clients using the Napster protocol will continue to be classified in the Napster class.  One of the more popular file sharing clients which uses the Napster protocol is WinMX.

In addition, the Napster brand has re-emerged in the form of a paid music download service, Napster 2.0.  This is service will be classified in the Napster2 class.
