Why does Firefox fail when I try to install an SGOS Image from a Web Server or from Local File?

Upload fails using Firefox with error message "Connection was reset"

Resolution

Blue Coat recommends using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome to access to ProxySG GUI  when performing these maintance activities. This isue is only seen in Firefox however it may affect other browsers; in case please refer to the particaulr browser support for further details.

 

The Blue Coat GUI  offers two ways to put a new SGOS image on your ProxySG.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and access to Blue Coat GUI, click the Maintenance tab.
  2. Select Upgrade.
  3. Click the Systems tab                                                                                           
  4. Check to see how many images you have on the list; five images is the limit. If you already have five images, the next image you download will replace one of the images on the list; the selected button in the Replace column indicates which image will be replaced. If you want the new image to replace a different image, select its Replace button before proceeding.
  5. To download and install an image from a web server:                                          
    1. Enter the URL (including filename) in the text box next to Download.
    2. Click on Apply to Save the Configuration
    3. Click Download to begin downloading the image file to your local computer.
    4. Click OK when the download is complete.
    5. Look in the list of Installed Operating Systems: the new SGOS version will be listed in bold type, with a Boot Status of New image.

  5. To download an image from the Blue Coat Web site to your local computer:
    1. Click SG Appliance systems available for download.
    2. Log in to your BlueTouch Online account.
    3. Click the Download tab, and select the ProxySG image you want to download.
    4. Follow the onscreen prompts to download the image.
    5. Click Download to begin downloading the image file to your local computer.
    6. Proceed to the next step to select this file to install.
  6. To install a local image file:
    1. Click Upload from local file. The Upload and Install File window displays in a new window (please allow your IE browser to open new pop-up window, coming from Blue Coat GUI)                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
    2. Click Browse, navigate to the .CHK or .bcsi image file, and click Open.
    3. Click Install to begin installation. While the installation is in progress, an hourglass appears on the screen and there will be a Loading message in the window or tab title.
    4. Once installation is complete, close the System Installation window/tab.
    5. In the Blue Coat Sky window, look in the list of Installed Operating Systems: the new SGOS version will be listed in bold type, with a Boot Status of New image. (Note: If you don't see the image listed, you may need to refresh your browser.)
    6. The image you just downloaded is not actually running until you upgrade or downgrade to it. Proceed to Upgrade/Downgrade an SGOS Image.
