Problem Description

You receive the error message "Blue Coat ProxyClient Tray Icon has stopped working" every 30 minutes.

This issue is caused by a known error in McAfee VirusScan 8.8. 

Note: This issue does not occur if you are logged in to the workstation as an administrator.

 

Resolution

Do one of the following:

  • Enable McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 ScriptScan
  • Install McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 1
