Problem Description

How do I bypass ICAP RESMOD (Response Modification) for specific URLs?

Resolution

To bypass ICAP RESPMOD for certain URLs, you must add a VPM policy rule(s).

In the VPM (Visual Policy Manager), add a new rule in a Web Content Layer.

  1. Right-click the Destination column and select Set > New > Request URL Category.
  2. Name the URL category and click OK on all open dialogs.
  3. Right-click in the Action column, and select Set > New > Set ICAP Response Service.
  4. Name the new object.
  5. Select Do not use any ICAP request service.
  6. Click OK on all open dialogs.
  7. Install the policy.

If you need to use CPL code for the same policy rules, add the following CPL code in the local policy file or in a VPM CPL Policy Layer.

   <cache>
   url.domain=<url>  response.icap_service(no)
